- 8 slices Texas toast bread, or other thick sliced bread
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp strawberry preserves
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
Spray the inside of the pie iron with cooking spray and set aside.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, vanilla and cinnamon. Dredge both sides of the bread in the mixture and set aside.
Place one slice of bread inside the camp cooker. Add 1/2 tbsp. of strawberry preserves on each sandwich and then add sliced strawberries. Place another piece of bread on top.
Close the pie iron around the strawberry french toast. Trim away excess bread from around the edges.
Cook for approximately 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
