Pie Iron Pizza Pockets

A portable pizza made in a cast iron pie iron over the campfire or grill. Fill it with the toppings of your choice and everyone can make their own custom, handheld pizzas while camping!

Ingredients

  • 1 ball refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup mozarella cheese
  • 1 pinch garlic powder and oregano
  • pepperoni, black olives, onions, mushrooms, peppers, parmesan, etc.

Instructions

  • Divide dough into eight equal pieces.
  • Spray inside of pie iron with cooking spray.
  • Stretch one piece of dough to cover the bottom of the pie iron.
  • Add pizza sauce, Mozzarella cheese, pepperoni or other pizza toppings. Sprinkle with a pinch of oregano and garlic powder.
  • Close up pie iron and cut away excess dough.
  • Place in hot coals or near heat source and cook for approximately 10 minutes, turning halfway through to ensure even cooking.
